Our FMCG client has created a new role within their procurement team for a Senior Buyer.
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for FM, Maintenance and Services that are required for the site which includes electrical/mechanical services, grounds work and roofing to name but a few.
The Senior Buyer will work closely with their colleagues in engineering and maintenance to understand their requirements and provide a network of vetted Suppliers to support their needs.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Leading end-to-end competitive tenders for goods and services
- Negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best pricing and commercial agreements
- Sourcing of new suppliers and vetting them to mitigate risk to the business
- Build and develop business relationships with Suppliers and carry out regular performance reviews
- Work closely with colleagues and maintain strong working relationships with them
- Provide regular reporting to the Procurement Manager and the business
- Continually identify areas of continuous improvement
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
- Proven experience of working in a similar purchasing/procurement role
- Experience in procuring FM, Maintenance and Services
- End-to-end procurement experience
- Strong negotiation, commercial and numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills who can confidently work with colleagues and suppliers
- Work on own initiative and manage own workload
- Drive change for the good of the business
- Challenge the status quo
