Description

Escape Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Minor Works Project Supervisor for our client based in North Ayrshire. This role is pivotal in overseeing a range of minor works projects at their manufacturing facility, ensuring they meet statutory and mandatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Projects range in complexity and cost, covering all facilities, offices, and welfare areas across the site.

The Role

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with H&SE legislation, company policies, and procedures. Report any unsafe acts or conditions using the Near Miss System in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Project Supervision: Oversee a variety of minor works projects with a multi-skilled, primarily contracted workforce, ensuring all projects meet required standards.
  • Resource Management: Identify necessary materials, resources, and expertise to deliver civil and building project requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare design and specification documents for competitive tendering, capital expenditure proposals, and project planning.
  • Contractor Management: Plan, manage, and oversee on-site contractor work to ensure safe, high-quality project completion within planned timescales and budget.
  • Site Maintenance Support: Assist the Civil & Building Works Engineer with site maintenance activities and annual inspections, developing work scopes, and appointing contract resources.
  • Compliance: Fulfill the duties of the 'Client' under the Construction, Design, and Management Regulations 2015.

The Candidate

  • HNC in Construction or equivalent experience
  • Recognised apprenticeship
  • Project Management and Contractor Management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong understanding of Scottish Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and risk assessment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
  • Strong decision-making, prioritisation, and motivational skills
  • Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving potential problems
  • Innovative mindset to implement new opportunities for business benefit
  • Ability to build effective relationships to enhance performance
  • Strong IT, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of company policy and operating procedures to ensure compliance
