Escape Recruitment is working with a specialist manufacturer who works within several sectors who are looking to appoint a Production Planner to join their Supply Chain Team.
The Production Planner will be responsible for producing and managing the production schedules to ensure the on-time completion of customer orders.
Responsibilities of the role will involve:
- Developing the production plan with a detailed project schedule to ensure the manufacturing processes are completed to meet the completion date
- Continually monitor the progress of the production plan to ensure it is on track
- Work closely with the Sales Team to review sales orders and forecasts
- Work closely with colleagues in procurement, production and support teams to ensure availability of materials, workforce and machinery
- Attend regular meetings to discuss the production plan and its progress
- Highlight and resolve problems with the production plan
- Analyse and produce reports using the ERP system for planning and reporting
- Continually seek improvements to processes and procedures
Knowledge and experience required for the role:
- Previous experience working in a Production Planning role within a manufacturing organisation (electronics would be highly advantageous)
- Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and planning processes
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Experience in using ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
- Can prioritise workload and deal with change
- Problem solver who always looks for solutions
- Team player with excellent communication skills
