Description

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Stores Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the Stores Operation on a busy manufacturing site.

The Engineering Stores Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Stores - goods receipt, warehousing, inventory control, product sourcing and team management.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Lead, develop and mentor the Stores team
  • Ensure the team understand the relevant processes and procedures are understood and efficiently implemented
  • Champion best standards and ensure housekeeping is maintained
  • Maintain Health & Safety requirements and manage H&S processes
  • Build and develop relationships with Key Stakeholders and ensure materials are available to meet the business needs.
  • To manage stock inventory through designated policies and techniques (e.g. cycle counting, stock checks, FIFO etc)
  • Manage all documentation in line with Company and Client procedures.
  • Report on weekly/monthly KPI's to demonstrate process control and compliance
  • Work with key Stakeholders to identify and remove obsolete/redundant parts, optimise min/max levels for codified items to ensure optimal coverage for all maintenance and overhaul duties.
  • Identify, drive and implement cost-saving opportunities
  • Continually identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Knowledge and experience of the role:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar Engineering Stores Management role within a busy manufacturing organisation
  • Experience in developing, motivating and leading successful teams
  • Experienced in logistical/material supply methodologies, including Lean principles
  • Strong Planning and organisational skills
  • Strong communicator who can build working relationships with colleagues and Stakeholders
  • Can work autonomously and has strong problem-analysis and decision-making skills
  • Experience in ERP/MRP systems
  • Passionate about Continuous Improvement
  • Customer focused and results-driven
