Description

Escape Recruitment Services Commercial Division are currently supporting our Client, recruit an experienced Sales Account, Business Development Manager.

Our Client is an established and successful SME Manufacturing and Engineering organisation based in North Lanarkshire; they have experienced progressive growth to date with further grow planned for the future and this role will play an instrumental part in developing relationships with existing Customers whilst identifying further areas of market growth.  

This role will be office based at their manufacturing headquarters in North Lanarkshire, with occasional travel within Scotland and the expectation that you will attend tradeshow events as required.  As part of your role, you will also be responsible for managing a team of two.

You will have full ownership of the commercial relationship of each key account, both contractually and financially relating to pricing and profitability. Building exceptionally strong Customer relationships through delivering consistent customer service levels in terms of delivery, quality, responsiveness and service and support expansion. Furthermore, you will be responsible for growing the account and  increasing profit.

Responsibilities Include

  • Establish and manage current Customer relationships, striving to capitalise on organic revenue growth opportunities.
  • Responsible and accountable for the Customer Profit and Loss with a focus on meeting / exceeding clearly defined financial objectives.
  • Manage and execute period based pricing activity covering materials, purchase price variance and value add costs.
  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the Customers. Listen to the Customer needs and translate those into action that meets or exceeds customer satisfaction goals in terms of delivery, quality, responsiveness and Customer focus.
  • Create and execute Customer account plan including strategies to increase profitability, account penetration, service expansion and customer loyalty.
  • Responsible for tactical execution of established contract terms and / or involvement in negotiation of contract terms for new/developing customers.
  • Build and develop multi-level relationships with Customers and internal departments.
  • Partner with internal functions to communicate and manage the needs of the customer (e.g. Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Engineering).
  • Drive regular Customer review meetings.
  • Produce internal Customer account reports, acting as the internal representative for Customer accounts which will include internal Stakeholder communication and updates.
  • Regularly monitor market intelligence to understand new business opportunities.
  • Fully establish the requirements and process for new bids and tenders.
  • Manage bids and tender processes including collecting required information for internal teams right through to submission.
  • Monitor and report on sales activities and performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide line management to sales team of 2.

Background Required

  • Strong knowledge and experience in the Manufacturing&/or Engineering sector in a relevant technical Sales &/or Customer Account Management role.
  • Able to demonstrate previous Customer account management experience and achievements.
  • Comfortable working in a SME environment, in a varied hands-on sales role.
  • People management experience is beneficial.
  • Well-developed communication skills, able to build strong relationships with all levels including Stakeholders and internal departments.
  • Confident IT skills, this should include MS Office, CRM databases &/or ERP/MRP systems.
