Senior Design Engineer/Manager - Engineering & Manufacturing

Salary: up to £50,000

Full time, permanent position

Working hours - On-site, 39.5 per week / early finish Fridays

Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in CAD, product development and leading a team? We are seeking a motivated individual to join an established business, working on a range of projects from concept to production.

**Due to upcoming projects, there is a progression plan into a leadership role**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading design projects, manage resources and work closely with customers and internal teams to develop and refine product designs.
  • Produce detailed dimensional and technical drawings.
  • Generate bills of materials and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Support manufacturing teams, prioritising work as required.
  • Liaise with external certification bodies where necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve design and quality-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.

What We're Looking For

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Experience in developing product designs from specification to final production.
  • Design for manufacture expertise.
  • Knowledge of materials and fabrication methods.

Soft Skills & Attributes:

  • Experienced leader managing a team through projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (ISO9001 beneficial).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
