Description

I am currently recruiting for time served Assembly Technicians / Fitters to work with my Global Client who Manufacture Large scale pumps based in Glasgow.

The shifts are 12 hours Monday to Thursday. You have the opportunity to work straight day shift (+20% uplift) or Straight night shifts (+40% uplift) or you could work a rotational 2 week about day/night shift with additional uplift

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Mechanical Fitter will work as part of a team within the assembly area, working on pumps for Original Equipment [OE] and aftermarket jobs. The role will include all aspects of assembly from building to dismantling product working in all areas within assembly

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Assembly of new pumps for OE and aftermarket orders within laid down parameters, efficiently, in line with work instructions.
  • Dismantling and assembly of repair / service pumps for OE and aftermarket orders within laid down parameters, efficiently, in line with work instructions.
  • Working within assembly to ensure economic manufacturing to the correct quality standard.
  • Responsible for your own quality of work, self-inspection and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists are required.
  • Assist in preparing/updating assembly documentation, programs, and tooling.
  • If required, be available to attend customer's site to carry out service work on behalf of the company.
  • If required, assist in the test area which include Hydro, performance, noise and vibration testing. Included will be setting up and stripping product off test, efficiently, in line with work instructions.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Time served Mechanical Fitter with up to 3 years relevant experience preferably in heavy manufacturing.
  • Have an understanding and experience of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Team Player with high level of energy and commitment required for participating in and implementing change.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbally.
