Escape Recruitment is working exclusively with a growing and evolving business that has an opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join their Supply Chain Team.
This is an all-round role and the Senior Buyer will work closely with Colleagues and Suppliers and be responsible for end-to-end purchasing from placing POs, category strategies, negotiation and Supplier management.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Develop and implement procurement strategy for all direct and indirect categories
- Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
- Source new Suppliers for products and services to minimise the Supply Chain Risk
- Build strong collaborative working relationships with Suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance through regular reviews and proactively support any issues
- Continuously analyse supply chain processes and identify improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Experience and knowledge for the role:
- Experience working in a similar Purchasing/Procurement/Buyer role within a fast-paced environment
- Strong Commercial, data analysis and negotiation skills
- Excellent communicator who can foster and build strong working relationships with Suppliers and Colleagues
- Experienced in managing Supplier relationships and performance
- Previous experience in using ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel Skills
- Thrives working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving business
- Comfortable to roll sleeves up and support colleagues when needed
- Flexible to travel occasionally to meet Suppliers
