Great opportunity for an experienced Buyer who has worked in a technical or engineering procurement role.
Our established client has created a new role for a Senior Buyer within their busy purchasing team. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for procuring materials from suppliers and sub-contractors to support the build plan of each project.
Duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Managing the end to end procurement process from demand, through to purchase orders and delivery of parts
- Build strong working relationships with supplier to understand lead-times and ensure on-time delivery and quality
- Place purchase orders in our ERP-system, ensure good data integrity and process
- management
- Support any sourcing requirements including finding new suppliers, RFQs, supplier contracts
- Work closely with the Project Managers and Engineers to highlight any issues relating to the delivery or quality of materials
- Work closely with colleagues in with operations, planning, logistics and quality
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
- Experience of working in a similar Purchasing or Buying role within an engineering/technical manufacturing organisation
- Understanding of BOM's and Technical drawings
- Experience of managing Suppliers and their performance
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Organised approach and can plan ahead in a structured and methodical way
- Works well with colleagues and supports others to achieve the team and company goals
- Occasional travel will be a requirement of the role
