Our client is looking to appoint a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy Purchasing Team . This is a newly created position to support the busy procurement and stores teams.
This is a great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant, Assistant Buyer, Expeditor to join an established team and develop their skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Place and track purchase orders ensuring timely delivery to meet manufacturing schedules
- Build relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and OTD
- Review Open Order Books
- Liaise with suppliers to pro-actively progress open orders
- Updating and maintaining the ERP systems
- Monitoring inventory levels and highlight material shortages
- Support the Purchasing Team with Ad Hoc requirements
Experience and knowledge of the role:
- Experience working in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience using ERP/MRP system
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong understanding of MS Office
- Self-motivated with a can-do positive attitude. Team Player
- Supply Chain Degree or equivalent is desirable but not essential
